Uponya is a watchOS app dedicated to help college students improve their sleep quality and habits as they utilize different features with the help of Rusty the Red Panda.
The app's name comes from the Nepali word “ponya” which means "bamboo eater" as a description of a red panda - chosen as the app's mascot as since they sleep ⅔ of a day. Adding the U in the beginning would make the name sound as "upon ya," giving users the idea that good sleep would be upon them with the help of the app.

The user journey map was made to explore the touchpoints of Uponya as a native mobile app and watchOS app.

Luna Cordova is the primary persona. As a full time college student, her use with technology, motivations, goals, and habits reflect the demographics of college students who share the same or similar values and concerns as her after thorough research.

The IA Map was then developed to expand on the watchOS app's features.

A competition analysis was then conducted on other watchOS apps prior to developing the interface of Uponya.

The paper prototype was then created based off of the competition analysis. Starting off with eight frames, feedback was then given on further improvements and expansion of the app.

The style guide was then formed as the low fidelity wireframes were developed. As Uponya is an app dedicated to sleep, colors reflecting the idea were utilized as the color palette while complementing the dark mode of the Apple Watch device.

The low-fidelity wire-framing of Uponya was developed through a series of group feedback and further research in user interface design of smartwatch apps and sleep tracking apps.

The high-fidelity wire-framing of Uponya was finalized with further feedback as assets of the style guide were applied to elements from low-fidelity wireframing.
